- Sure. Try this one on for size. I was born back in 1957, with a tiny whole in my heart. In the summer of '58, when I was just 16 mos. young, I had to go under the knife for open-heart surgery. Then, when I was closed up, a blod-clot formed, went all the way up to my brain, and formed a lesion: the final result was Epilepsy, which I continue to live with today--and which quite recently was the result of depression, which epileptics are more prone to than anyone else. I am not yet absolutely sure that the symptoms of my depression are over with per se. (Only time shall tell.) All I can say for sure right now is that the anxiety attacks I've had up til now were 100 times than any seizures I've ever experienced over a time span span of nearly 37 years.
- I used to work in the Operating Room. We were operating on a guys' knee when he awoke during the surgery. The RN threw her body into the guy...pinning him down...while the surgeon very quickly removed the tools from the guys' knee & screamed, "He's bucking; he's bucking!". The anesthesiologist behind the drapes quickly jumped up (& we heard his newspaper hit the floor) & adjusted the anesthesia. This is when I learned that amnesiacs are routinely given along with anesthesia so IF you wake up during a surgery, you won't remember it...or sue the Surgeon.
