1. The products of some implants might be harmful. The early breast implants of the 70s wound up giving women cancer, If the surgeon does crappy work then you will look "obvious" that you had work done at best, and horribly disfigured and deformed at worst. And just because of the nature of surgery, there's always a chance that complications during the surgery can harm you, or kill you. Just recently i think it was 50 cents' mother who died from a routine procedure.
2. Death. Disfigurement. Lots of money spent for minor change. Not the outcome desired. Looks worse than before. Infection.

Bad effects of cosmetic surgery could be a number of things; such as the risk of looking unnatural (extra puffy looking lips from collagen injection), getting a different result than asked for (for example, wanting a c-cup size breast reduction, and getting a b-cup instead), getting facial skin pulled too tight (this has happened with many celebrities), the result of a disapproportionate face because of an incorrectly done rhinoplasty. Sometimes plastic surgery itself can be addictive and lead to the mistake of too many changes that are not subtle or natural looking. Sometimes, surgeries don't heal correctly if you use a surgeon who is not skilled in the art of plastic surgery. Make sure that you give it plenty of thought, consult more than one surgeon, and look at photos of procedures that he's already performed for the procedure you're wanting to get. Small subtle changes, or surgery that is deemed really necessary can be factors for sucessful surgery, but be sure the surgeon has proven capable from photo examples and from your consultation. Any good surgeon will help you to make a realistic choice, even if it is to rethink having the procedure. Also, be sure the surgeon is a board certified member. Know his track record.
