Is there some tye of cosmetic thing that can make you look asian?

Like for example the eyelid tape asians sometimes use to get a double eyelid. I've heard of that eyelid tape and double eyelid surgery but is there anything that gets the opposite affect? Ha ha I'm just a sad "wapenese" person I suppose. But for halloween I wanted to be a japanese maid, so...

  1. Hm, I don't think there is a way to un-do your eyelids, but it's not the eyelids that make you look Japanese. There are a lot of popular Japanese artists, pop idols, actors/actresses with eyelids (I think most of them do) Put some eyeliner on to make your eyes look a little more curved or squinted. Just try your best! ^_^

  4. It's not easy to get a look that's natural. In stage performances, the makeup artist will use things like mortician's wax and tape under heavy makeup to give the effect from a distance. There are a few things though that you can do to get a pretty good effect for your costume. 1) Lighten your skin - you will need a foundation that is several shades lighter than your natural skin tone. Good costuming supply shops that stock theatrical makeup will have an assortment of greasepaints and a basic white greasepaint will give you the look of a maiko (apprentice geisha). Use it lightly but evenly over your face including around the eyes and over the eyelids. This will cut down on shadow and help to hide the crease of your eye. Also cover your lips (you'll see why in a minutes). 2) Eyes - The traditional colors for a geisha are red and black. With black liquid liner, trace the rim of your upper lid right along the lash line and draw the line slightly past longer on the outer part of your eye (think a softer version of the cat's eye) to elongate your eye. Use the red to accent the outer portion of your eyelid and outlining the lower eyelid . Be careful not to get anything into the crease of your eye as this will ruin the effect and empathize the western shape of your eyes. 3) Blush - get a pale cherry-blossom pink color and with a large blush brush, apply to your cheeks. Use a lot if you are going to be a young or junior maiko, and less for a more senior maiko. 4) Lips - the Japanese aestetic calls for a small, delicate bow-shaped mouth. Using red lip liner, carefully draw out the outline on your own lips (the liner should not extend to the outer corners of your mouth) and fill in with red lipstick. Again, depending on the rank of maiko, you can either do a partial coloring (for a junior maiko) or a fuller mouth. This website has some templates and instructions that should be useful. There are also links so that you can purchase actual geisha cosmetics. http://www.immortalgeisha.com/faq_misc.php#faq07 Good luck!
