2. Power assisted liposuction (PAL) uses an electric motor or compressed air to move the cannula (the tube that goes into the fat), using either a spinning movement or an in-and-out movement. It is generally combines with tumescent liposuction Technique, in which saline solution, local anesthesia, and adrenaline are infused into the area being treated. I've not had it, but PAL is supposed to use less force, and therefore results in less damage to surrounding tissue and less bruising.. But there will still be a lot of bruising and swelling. You will wear a snug elastic dressing or body stocking over the treated area for several days, and then at night for several weeks.
