How long will I be swollen, tight, and bruised after a tummy tuck and liposuction?

I had all of this done two weeks ago. However, I'm still swollen, tight, and bruised. I haven't been able to sleep on my bed.

  1. Why didn't you ask when they did it? It would be natural to want to know. After having all that done; it's bound to take a good amount of time to heal inside and out. They usually give you a sheet of instructions to take with you of things to do and not to do.
  2. The person who answered you before I thought was a bit rude, who cares why you are asking anything, if you dont want to answer leave your answer off, dont ask why we are asking though. We use this site to be able to come to others with our questions, maybe even ones we forgot to ask our physicians during our consultations or maybe in the excitement and nervousness of the surgery, we may forget to ask. I, too, had surgery, a week ago today, a tummy tuck. The swelling is really bothering me but doctor says 6 weeks before it is completely gone, and 3 months to see the true, real results. I am tight as well and it stinks having that feeling but I am standing almost back to normal one week post-op and when I am slouching I try to catch myself and stand up best I can. Dont worrk, 2 weeks is perfectly normal (as far as my physician told me and all the tons of research I've done) to still be swollen, tight, and bruised. Give it 6 weeks to feel 100%. Good luck with your healing!
