I'm allergic to elastic bandages. What happens if I don't use bandages after a liposuction?

Just had a tummy tuck with lipo and was dismayed to discover that the bandages and the micropore plasters used caused boils and painful rashes on my skin. What other option do I have? Help?

1. Unfortunate, but congrats on your new bod! I have worked in the area of your procedure and sometimes patients have a reaction to adhesives and/or unknown skin reaction to latex. Can you wear underwear? Socks? Chew gum? All of these contain latex. You should raise the issue with the doctor about using an abdominal binder with abdominal pads or just 4x4's over the incision sites. The drainage here is very important and must come out. Be advised about the importance of circulation. Oh, and are they really boils or was some of the equipment contaminated because it wasn't sterilized properly? You should absolutely take pictures and keep a record of what's happening. It may not even be the bandages. Good luck.
