Why are richer people more corrupt/judgemental than poorer people just trying to survive?

Life is hard for about 80% of the people outside of America and even within our borders, and life is basically a constant struggle of sorts, if you want to choose to look at it that way, yet the well off in this country and other countries, who get to go on vacations, get whatever clothes they want, afford plastic surgery, make movies/music, are into fashion, models/actors, all sorts of things, they get soooooo wrapped up in their own existance, and turn all Nazi on everyone else and act judgemental, materialistic, unhappy, and turn corrupt, and are very awful to people below their "class". This is why we have TONS of people wearing fake bags/clothes because they want to "fit in," because they're ashamed of looking poorer. Isn't this evil? Yet we have people in Africa starving, dying, etc, while people are are MISERABLE if they have last season's bag, a few years old car, and they don't have their dream job? What is honestly wrong with our society? (continued) For example, let's say you're an immigrant from Africa, you but your butt to come to AMerica, make it here, and then you venture off in some higher scale store, ONLY to have people laugh you right out, complain about how immigration is destroying this country and look at you like you're a serf, to a feudal lord. We do this even to our own middle class. The media/marketing is responsible for making almost everyone feel insecure and rake in debt to feel worthy. Why are the upper classes so evil like this? I really think it is evil. Even the whole scene. Modelling, drugs/competition/sex/alchohol, acting/music, same thing, even non-hollywood related industries, it's all about money/power etc. It's just evil.

  1. I agree, and isn't it a shame? I guess they have to feel superior to someone, and also by belittling those less fortunate it justifies their not assisting the needy elderly, disabled and poor, so they can sleep at night......... Also I am not that religious, but their greediness and selfishness is EXTREMELY UN-Christian. Keep in mind that Jesus Christ was definitely NOT one of them.
  2. The people you are talking about are the minority, most people work and get by. Society has always been and will be based on power and influence and this comes from money.
