Has anyone had surgery to stop oily skin on your face?

I mean the laser surgery that kills the oil glands on your face to stop them from producing oil on you face. My sister-in-law is having it done soon. Anyone done it or know anyone who has gone through with it?

  1. I don't know why you would want to do that. People shouldn't be messing around with their body's natural processes.
  2. Eeek, God put oil glands on your face for a reason. Just like how they laser hair off, I've seen horror stories of ingrown hairs that grow back and are super painful. I wouldn't recommend it, but it's up to you!
  3. I didn't even know there was such a thing! I don't even know how it would be done, but I would suggest against it, something like that doesn't seem natural and could lead to a serious problem if it failed. Try washing your face frequently with warm (not hot) water. You may even want to purchase an acne product (DON'T GET PROACTIVE I HAVE IT AND USE I FAITHFULLY 2 TIMES A DAY AND IT HAS NOT WORKED FOR 2 MONTHS!) to help dry out your face. Avoid going into the sun too much and use a high SPF sunscreen. You may also want to use products with lots of Aloe in them to help mediate your face.
