Why do people prefer to have plastic surgery instead of losing weight in a healthy way?

One my friends has recenty had a plastic surgery(liposuction). She is really young(23) and I told her not to do this, because she can lose that weight giving up on fast food and doing a lot of exercise. She did not listen to me.Now she's in the hospital and she has severe complications. She spent all that money and now she feels awful.I just don't understand why people choose to do this.I'm a vegetarian,I've been eating organic food for 5 years and I've been looking great and feeling healthy ever since.I think the natural way is the way to go.What do u think?

  1. CUZ THERE TOO LAZY TOO LOSE FAT
  2. yeah its wierd isnt it? i guess some people just cant live without those creature comforts. and definitely cant get off their butts and go for a jog
  3. Because they are lazy. How do you think they got fat in the first place.
  4. laziness
  5. because it requires less work in their part and because they imagine that that is the only way they can achieve the body shape that they desire
  6. Easy; people are lazy, and feel entitled. That's the way of the world these days. I notice this question, and others who mentioned laziness, have gotten thumbs down; I guess people just don't like to face the truth; don't get me wrong. Not all who are overweight are lazy. Some take meds that exacerbate the problem, some have medical conditions which do, I realize that. The vast majority, however, just won't get off their butts.
  7. I think it is unfair that people always assume laziness....I am overweight...I don't think i am fat....trust me I try to lose weight the right way, eat right exercise....it's just not cutting it for me....however surgery is not an option, I am at least very happy with who I am. Support your friend instead of chastising......some people are not meant to be "skinny". Society has beat into us that all women should be a size 2. Shouldn't our main concern be healthy...both physically and mentally? I wish the best for your friend.
  8. if you have the money and your dont have time to excersise liposuction is the answer.
  9. people like to eat what's good to their taste buds not for thier body.people are also lazy mentally tired and our goal in life is make it as easy as possible as fast as possible putting all their rejection insecurity and trouble and blame thier bodies imperfections.money is the easy fix .would you rather wax your car once a week .or let it go and take it in for a new buff and or paint.you don't have to do the work that's why.
  10. I'm with you. The line is always, "I've tried diet and exercise, but nothing works". That's baloney, though, because there have not been overweight people in concentration camps. If you cut your calories enough (and eat the right kind of calories) you lose weight. If you exercise you look, feel, and are healthier. Another point on this: Is getting rid of some saddle bags worth risking a life over? If you die from liposuction complications they can write on your headstone, "Here lies someone without saddle bags." We all know what is healthy to do and what isn't. If someone doesn't or can't do what is healthy it is because there is something in their life that shouldn't be there or something they need in their life is lacking. It could be their inner life, the life that is around them, or both. In any of these cases, plastic surgery isn't the answer. The larger question everybody needs to ask, though, is how has our culture raised a group of young girls (and to some extent young men) who are so obsessed with the state of their waistline and thighs rather than working on perfecting their inner selves or doing something substantial in this world? Are they such sheep they are sucked in by the nitwit/no-accomplishments "role models" in the media? Are they so misguided they think six-pack abs will get them into "heaven"? I think you, the friend of this young woman, ought to start a website that emphasizes good health and the risks of plastic surgery. You could have other people contribute and have your views heard. (In my area a whole hospital stopped procedures because there were too many complications. I know of a mother of young girls who had serious complications from it as well.)
  11. why should they get off their a r s e and exercise when they obviously have the money to fix their problems?
  12. doing things the natural way takes work and dedication... You and I are willing to put the effort in... but most people are just too damned lazy. That's all there is too it.
