Surgery to remove fat from chin?

Hi, everyone. When most people mention "liposuction of the chin" they mean the small roll of fat (I've heard it referred to as "turkey neck"), but I mean something totally different. All my life, I've been extremely insecure about the fat on top of my chin, right in the front of my jaw. I was wondering if there's anything a surgeon could do to make my chin/jaw less protruding. I'm thinking they'd have to basically saw my jaw and cut the fat away, but if there are any more informed, educated answers. Thank you in advance! (Here's a picture for reference. Just shows the little ball of fat: http://tinypic.com/r/2lw7zb7/5) (Alternate link: http://i40.tinypic.com/2lw7zb7.jpg)

  1. I happen to like it, It makes you look very cute. Much like dimples (Which I have) But if it bothers you that much, they could chisel it down much like the would on a nose procedure.
  2. You're such a cutie! You've been blessed with nice teeth, beautiful eyes and it sounds like you have a pretty great personality... I think you see where I'm going with this. We all have things we dream about changing, whether it be our nose, chin, cheeks, or other body parts. What is important is to learn to love yourself exactly the way you are, then, if you still feel you want a change, then alright. You're still young, by the looks of your picture, and you're body is still undergoing changes even until you're 20, so I wouldn't plan on doing anything drastic anytime soon. On a different note, if you are looking to visually reduce the prominence of your chin, there are cosmetics out there that could help you. I would start with keeping the shine to a minimum, that means there won't be light bouncing off of your chin, making it look more prominent then it actually is. Then, I would recommend something like Benefit Cosmetics "It Stick". It is a light formulation the goes over creases or shadowy areas, perfect for where your chin creases. This will minimize the shadow, thereby making it look less prominent. Really, give that It Stick and some oil absorbing mineral powder a try before you give up on your natural, beautiful appearance. Good luck, and I really hope this helps you. You seem like a cool person. jdoe
  3. You're adorable, you have no reason to be insecure about your chin. Have people said things to you about it that made you feel uncomfortable? If that is the case then maybe you should have it done, but if this is just YOU worrying about it all the time, then I really don't think you should... you're beautiful and should focus on your other qualities (great laugh, sense of humor, etc) and just have fun in life :-)
  4. People get chin implants so that they have a bit of contour there - not take it away. I have drawn a lot of faces over time and I work on a lot of faces when I do cosmetic tattooing. You do not have an abnormality that needs fixing. You need to have improved self-esteem and not such a skewed impression of yourself. You are beautiful and will only improve with age.
