If you are technically obese is Liposuction worth considering to get the body weight back to safe levels?
I am 5 stone over weight since giving up smoking and can't do aerobic exercise due to a spinal problems. I am concerned as being obese puts me into a much higher risk of all kinds of illnesses like heart disease and stroke etc etc I've tried dieting without success. Is Liposuction ok?

- NO, Doctors will not do it. After so many milliliters or cc's of fat is removed, you lose pints of blood. Doctors most often only do it for small pockets of fat. I wish they would do it for obesity. I need it.
- Liposuction draws fat and fat cells out of the body. Things to consider - when the fat cells have been removed any weight you put on in the future may end up in places you don't want it. One woman liposuctioned the lower part of her body and put weight on all round her face and under her chin and round her shoulders - not the best look. Another woman lost her legs below the knee after having lipo on tummy and hips. Like any operation there is also the risk of death. Maybe your doctor can refer you to a nutritionist who can help you to tailor a diet to you personally and monitor your progress. All the best
- No you need to lose weight and stop making exscuses. So you have spinal problems so you could swim or do some weights sitting down - there are lots of options. And you didn't put on weight because you gave up smoking you put on weight because you eat too much and don't do enough exercise - stop kidding yourself.
