Well, you try spending billions on trying to build the best team in professional sports only to have one of your starts say his pinky toe hurts and he can't play. I doubt you would feel much sympathy for him. However, I think Jerry was really trying to say that they would have beaten Pittsburgh had Marion played. Just a subtle excuse to put out there. Of course we all know that Dallas did not lose that game due to the RB position - the backup backup guy did great. But by Jerry saying what he said...some people might think, "hmmm...could we have won if we had Marion". Instead of, "boy, we suck at finishing a game". It provides hope, albeit false.
