When viewing face-lifts, do a majority of them make you feel sick?
They had TONS of celebs "before and after photos" on youtube regarding their face-lifts and man most of them ended up looking so horrible, it's SAD !!!!!! Why can't a lot of people just age gracefully? They'd look better anyway their ol' natural self. Whatta ya think? Well one actress that was pretty surprising to see on there was Nicole Kidman [even tho she's a super incredible actress]--previously thought she was all natural. But the close up showed her face-lift, EEEEEK!! Too scary even for Halloween. < :-o

- I don't mind some, like when they're subtle or if they're really a big improvement and don't look horribly fake. It gets scary when someone gets facelifted to the point that their face is completely frozen in place, though. I can never tell if they're trying to smile or frown or what. Gah.

The plus side is that I don't feel so bad with how I am aging. My looks come for free!
- It depends on how much work they have done and how old they are. There's also a limit to how much can be done. I often see people with these tight skinned faces and their eyes look like the lids have been pinned open. And then their neck when they turn their head crinkles and crepes up--dead giveaway not only that the person has had a lot of work done but that they are far older then they look. Hands, arms, back, chest skin all ages and although the doctors may be able to pull it all tight again, whenever you move or twist the skin texture is going to give you away. And there's just something demented when you know someone is over 60 and they "look" like they are 35. I'd far prefer people just let themselves age and enjoy the character living all those years adds to their persona. I like the wrinkles and lines. Same with letting their white hair shine through--it's disconcerting to know someone is a senior citizen and still has this pitch black hair (or red hair like Ronald Reagan). It just isn't right. Isn't it ironic that we spend so much of your youth being almost obsessed with how imperfect our bodies/faces are and spending so much time trying to manipulate it to appear "perfect" and now in hindsight, gee, we looked pretty good back then, it all worked without much pain, you could do thing (like kneel) without paying for it later. A lot of the youngsters on Y!A are agonizing over acne and how they aren't as beautiful or their boobs are too small or they have knobby knees, etc. and I just want to tell them all, hey, just enjoy your youth, enjoy your young functional bodies while you can, you are perfect just as you are.
- I've seen some women who were born with such gorgeous bone structure that, if they haven't taken care of their skin for decades and it loosens, it's really a shame when they start sagging. It's such an individual choice. I know when Cher changed her mouth, my heart sank. And Joan Rivers making fun of hers is hilarious. What was it she said? "I can't smile! I can't smile!" ?
- I don't necessarily get sick, but there are some where the skin is stretched so much that their facial expression appear overly exaggerated. That makes me feel sad for the person. Some people will do anything for vanity, even buttock-lifts . . . now viewing those might make me feel sick!
- They depend on their looks to make a living and the public expects their movie stars never to age or gain weight. I see this happen more to the females and it seems the males are allowed to age and still be accepted.
- i would rather look my age than look like poor joan rivers-eeeeeek! she and others who get carried away with surgery, end up looking like nightmares.kenny rodgers was looking like a handsome, older gentleman untill the surgery-now he looks bad.better to be handsome/pretty but older, than look younger but somehow it changes ur looks for the worst.look at jennifer grey from dirty dancing-her unique original nose gave her a sweet, adorable and winsome appearance.when she had the nose altered, instead of enhancing her look,it made her bland and anonymous, which effectively put the breaks on her career trajectory.people missed the original jennifer, who was memorable and perfect the way she was.i would not have surgery unless im in an accident or contract a disfiguring illness.
- To answer your question, No. It makes me feel envious. If I could afford it I would get one done now. I don't think that I am aging gracefully and want to do something about it.
- I don't want a full face lift, just an eye and neck lift. Mickey Rourke was a sexy and good looking man, now his face lift is horrid. Jennifer Grey who played in the movie Dirty Dancing had a face life and you can't even recognize her now. She looks completely different. It is such a shame. Poppy
- Anne Robinson's face-lift looks OK but it doesn't fit with her wrinkled neck or her 'Bingo wings'.
