Why did Michael Jackson undergo all those plastic surgeries?
This Is a question I've been wanting to know for so many years!

- I heard him say once that he didn't want to look anything like his father. I guess he didn't want to look in the mirror and be reminded of his childhood, or rather the lack of one.
- - He was bullied because of his nose throughout his childhood and desperately wanted to change it. - He hated his father because he used to abuse him and his brothers and sisters, and he looked a lot like him. - After having such a deprived childhood, he became obsessed with Peter Pan and the idea of staying young forever. He used plastic surgery to physically bring that closer to reality. - After frequently undergoing plastic surgery, he became addicted.
- Now, you can ask him !! I think he stays in one place, now...
- Maybe he was unhappy with the way he looked, but I'm not sure. I think it's sad, God made him the way he was supposed to be, and he changed it. :( I personally think he looked nicer before all of the surgeries.
- Haha go ask this in the Celebrity section, you'll get a lot more answers from people that know(there's an MJ family over there). I think it's because he thought he was fugly but that's just my opinion... seriously, you'll get better answers in the Celebrity section
- Self-image problems. He said that as a kid, he wished he'd worn a mask on stage. Because his father and brother bullied him for his appearance. And he said as he got older, the feeling got worse. He had his first nose job because he fell and broke it. The second one was because he couldn't breath through it properly which he needed to be able to sing right. He didn't have that much surgery if you think about it - he admitted to the chin cleft to make himself look more masculine. And his skin lightened, making him look as though he'd had more. He had eye and lip tattoos which don't count as plastic surgery. The rest is aging. He may have had more nose jobs, he may not have done. But if you look at it from the Bad era up to around Invincible era, it doesn't look any different...
- You know, he might not have actually had as much as it seems. Even if you don't believe him, he said he only had 2 nose surgeries (and of course required medical surgery after the pepsi commercial accident). Many things could have made his appearance change so dramatically besides surgery including his vitiligo, natural maturing/aging, weight loss, and even his mental state of mind (not meaning he was crazy just how depressed/angry/hurt he was by all the negative media and pressure of being a superstar). A nose job isn't very rare in Hollywood but if he did have more than that, it was probably a result of his agonizing adolescense where he was abused, teased (by his own father and others), and just overall hated himself/his appearance but was still always in the spotlight literally in front of the whole world.
