I'm writing a paper about how doctors should have some kind of law (besides the hypocratic oath) that they should abide by with as far as plastic surgery. They should turn away patients if they are overdoing plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons. I was also playing around with the idea that some of the patients should be referred to a psychiatrist if their problems are serious. Do you have any opinions on this? Any links to factual data? PS. I think limited and reasonable plastic surgery is fine, and ultimately it is up to the patient to make their own decision but the doctors should have the wisdom to turn patients away or have them go to a psychiatrist. Also, I think there is nothing wrong with plastic surgery, it is a great tool for burned victims and other things like that.
