I don't know. I feel sorry for her. She wanted to make herself beautiful and look what vanity got her. Lesson learned for me. I hope Lisa Marie never does that to herself. Wonder what Elvis would think? I think that aging actresses do that because the roles begin to disappear. When you are no longer the sex pot you no longer get the work. Sad but true. Some are strong enough to get over it, like Glenn Close, Bette Midler, and Meryl Streep. Others fall prey and are proven weak by the pressure to be young, always. Sad isn't it.
In response to what jnwildman said--"she wanted to make herself beautiful and look what vanity got her"--well, the fact is she was very beautiful and so I think it would be correct to say she wanted to *stay* beautiful. Elvis married Priscilla when she was very very young, and I think she (and other very attractive women) probably believe their beauty is their main selling point and when you believe that, growing older is harder than it is for those who always believed they had other strong selling points. But as always, it is a sad comment on our society that women are still objectified in a way that men are not.
