- the doctors office will have info on financing a surgery like that, but if you have no credit score yet then the APR is going to be huge and you'll end up paying 10,000 on a 6500 dollar surgery. work on your credit score first otherwise you'll lose allot. find out what your rate is on your credit card then see what the doctors office rate is never do more then a 5-8% APR preferably 0% is best of course. but if you do not have a credit score or it's super low, this is what i did....go to a jewelry store like helzburg or rogers and hollands and buy a 100-200 dollar piece make the 20 dollar a month payments a couple times then pay it off completely and close the card...your score will raise ALT i promise.
- You should not finance your plastic surgery through a credit card. A 6500 dollar procedure will easily cost you over 10,000 dollars. Your credit card company charges interest and finance charges on the amount charged to your card. If you make the minimum payment each month, you will only be paying off the interest. You will not be paying down the principal balance on your card. You currently have a new credit card. This means that you have not established a good credit history yet. It hurts your credit score every time you apply for a new card. It is unlikely that the surgeon would split your cost up among multiple cards. Debt for plastic surgery would look very bad on your credit history. It will show that you are not responsible with credit. You should work on saving money for the procedure. If the procedure is important to you, then you should be able to put money aside for it. If it's not that important, then you do not need the procedure done. You can talk to the surgeon's office about financing, however you should understand that you will throw away hundreds or thousands of dollars in interest and financing charges by the time you are all paid off.
