against COSMETIC plastic surgery?
Okay, I am totally agaist COMSMETIC plastic surgery. Btw i am not religious so my reasons do not have anything to do with god or anything. Why, may you ask? Because it shows that they have no self esteem. Why can't they accept themselves for who they really are ? Accepting ones self can be a hard thing to do if you are not satisfied with what you've got but If you choose to pay your way out to overcome this obstacle, what makes you think that u can do the same with next one? With age you'll realise that beauty is only skin deep. We are constantly influenced by them media, and i'm not saying in the good way. More then 90% of what u see on TV or on magasine covers were edited thus they're not real. anywyas...i had my sayins. What are your opinions? i ment cosmectif as in..you perfectly fine no birth defects burned skin or athing and still go through surgery ex nose job, breast implants, ears, i even heard women having surgicaly remove parts of teir labis so they'll look better I don't dye my hair nor wear make up. i prefer to be natural with my flaws. i learned to accept it...and it has been hard. ( i have alot of facial hair )

- Amen sister! No woman (or man) is physically perfect and we should be allowed to be imperfect. We should also be allowed to age. I think it's really sad that teenagers are now altering their body parts. When I was young, I was told your imperfections give you character. Nobody wants a Barbie.
- generally i agree with your perspective. however, if a person was in an accident which resulted in repairable physical defect (like a mashed nose) or a congenital problem (such as being born with a severe hairlip) then i'm not opposed to cosmetic plastic surgery at all.
- It is not the woman morethen i think it is the man . I used to be a dancer and you should have heard the things that men said about there wives on how then were sooo hot hten they had kids now there boobs sag or blah blah blah womenhave to keep themselves looking good or there man will get uninterested in them physically and start to do stuff that will hurth te woman and then it hurts there relationship also . I am not against cosmetic surgry i think the women that have mommy makeovers deserve it why not they had the kids .
- I totally disagree. I have implants and I love them. I didn't do it because I was trying to satisfy a deep longing to look like a celbrity or because I was influenced by anyone - I did it because I wanted to be able to wear sexy lingere for my husband and have it fit me rather then having to go to the pre-teen's section for bra's. Not everything has to be psycho-analyzed and not all surgery is wrong. It depends entirely on your motives. If you are doing it to feel more like a whole person - then you will be sadly disappointed. But if you are just doing it to keep youreslf looking and feeling good then what's the harm?
- Well what is your opinion on a person whose face is covered in burn scars because they got caught in a fire? Or a person who lost 300 lbs and still has about 40 lbs of loose skin that just won't go away?? YOU may feel confident, but not eveyone has that luxury, if someone wants to pour thousands upon thousands of dollars on plastic surgery because it makes them FEEL BETTER about themselves, why not?? You can't just sit here and cut people down because YOU don't agree with it, not everyone has a perfect body or face, so chill out and leave people alone.
- LOL I always wondered: what if a lady was born really weird looking, got a bunch of cosmetic surgery to look like a model. Got married and then had wierd looking kids. Would she want them to have surgery? I think plastic surgery is great for people who've suffered a birth defect or an accident or an illness that left them disfigured. I've cried watching those shows about children born w/out faces then going thru many surgeries just to have eye sockets! I think those women who don't like their check bones or noses and want a little cosmetic enhansment need to watch one of those shows.
- i wouldnt get surgery now, (19) but prob once i have wrinkiles ill try whatever they have in the future, but people getting boob jobs and but implants i dont believe in that because sometimes its not needed.
- I am not against plastic surgery at all. I am 100 percent happy with myself, and I have a high self esteem. I would like some work done, though. It doesn't make me a bad person with low self esteem...I just feel it is something that I want to do. It's almost like the clothes you wear....do you wear them because they are trendy?? Or do you wear the clothes that are faded with holes in them because they are old?? You would want to replace them so you can look your best. The media has nothing to do with me wanting plastic surgery...I feel if I can do something to make me look better...why not??
- As a physician, I know that many plastic surgeons screen their patients for their intent. Other surgeons simply collect the money and do the work. People expect a new vibrant life from the surgery and are depressed when they find that they may look better, but are still the same old person. We refer people to plastic surgeons that are disfigured, burned or suffer from inherited problems such as a cleft lip. These referrals are done to improve the quality of life for such persons, not for beauty. A person with a cleft lip has difficulty in eating (often associated with a cleft palate) and surgery improves both the quality of life as well as improving the chance for him/her to find a partner in life. The people that rely on plastic surgery to maintain a beautiful person image also depend on their appearance to make money. As for the media...they distort both news and do retouch photos....with a bit of honey from PR men.
- i wanna be skinny and would love to get lap band or something
- Electrolysis is not really "surgery". If you have facial hair that would rival a guy ... maybe better look into it.
- A friend who had breast enlargement also had high esteem going in and after surgery. Perhaps some people do it for self-esteem reasons but its nonsense to generalize that idea. The only possible purpose would be to give the self-righteous moralizers something to dig their teeth into. Nobody has a monopoly on morality and can tell others what to do!
