Is liposuction a good idea for me? I'll be 18?
I am seriously considering getting liposuction after I turn 18. I am healthy and in shape, but I have this one spot under my belly button that will NOT go away no matter how hard I try. I was thinking of doing the new laser liposuction, it is cheaper and safer and easier with only one day of recovery time. I am not going to tell my parents about this. do you think its a good idea? Should I tell me parents? crunches only build up muscle underneath, they don't eliminate fat.

- how about doing some crunches?
- unnecessary surgery is never a good idea. If you are really doing everything you can in terms of diet and exercise and it will boost your confidence and self esteem than go for it. Note that liposuction is invasive and could lead to death, internal infections, and scars.
- There is a good chance that all will be well, whatever age you undergo liposuction. However, at the age of 18, you may not have the maturity to fully assess the risks involved. And if the results are not ideal, you have a very long life ahead in which you may regret a rash early decision. By all means start talking to some doctors, but do ask about the risks involved and other options available. If there's not much fat, you can explore mesotherapy too. I think it would be a good idea to just talk to your parents first before proceeding with the surgery.
- Although I believe in laser liposuction, you only a have a small area under your belly button and just 18, I'd try a different abdominal exercise before laser lipo. If it is there now with your exercise, then it will possibly come back after liposuction if you do the same thing. Try a different abdominal exercise, running, jumping, leaping. get a video like Insanity workouts or P90x, if this doesn't get rid of it then try laser lipo. But do tell a friend to MONITOR you. don't just hide out by yourself as you could end up dead from overbruising, bleeding too much, or choosing a cheap doctor who punctures you in the wrong place. be careful.
