Are people's motives for cosmetic surgery ever to maintain their childhood purity?
Cause I feel like deep down we all have the ability to maintain our childhood purity forever. But for me I don't know how well I can if my look ages. So I've been thinking that it may be something I will want to do by the time I turn 40 (I'm 20). Is that ever the reason people get facial surgery?

- I just want to get some so I'll definitely get laser treatment at least when I'm older.
- I think the reason people get plastic surgery, is to conform to socieys notion of what is "ideal" . If you look at any magazine you will notice if celebrities dont have the characteristics in society that are "ideal" they will be scrutinised and ridiculed until they turn to plastic surgery. I suggest you stay the way you are, because natural is best ;)
- It depends on the person. Some people really need it to correct certain health issues, others to enhance their features, and some may be purely out of addiction. There's also issues of self-esteem, emotional and psychological issues, and even as you said, to live forever at the fountain of youth. All in all, you can't hide age. You can lift a few pieces, lipo a leg or two, chisle yourself to seem like the perfect person, but in reality, the spirit you're trying to reflect with surgery is all internal. If you truly feel young at heart, it'll show no matter how old you are. There's no surgery in the world that can ever constitute for that feeling. If you start using decent facial moisturizers and creams now, as well as eating healthy, by the time you're 40 you'll still look like a 20yr old. Besides, have you seen Heidi Montag's face? That should be the anti-poster for facial surgery.
