Got a question about tri-care coverage and cosmetic surgery for active duty soldiers?

If you are active duty in the US Army and would like to get stretch marks removed via laser surgery or other effective procedures, can it be done to where Tricare will cover it or at least discount it, or are you pretty much SOL and have to pay thousands of $$$ at a cosmetic surgeons office?

  1. all out of pocket. and you must use Regular leave for any recovery period. only medically necessary cosmetic surgery is covered.
  2. You have got to be kidding...... Uncle Sam or even Obama is not picking up the tab for anything non combat related. Just think of the cost if everybody in the serivce wanted something done?
  3. Tricare does not cover elective surgery of any kind. There used to be a time when Active Duty could get all sorts of cosmetic procedures at no out of pocket cost, but those days are pretty much gone, given that the military's Plastic Surgeons are booked solid dealing with reconstructive surgeries (due to combat injures).
