Okay I just found out that plastic surgery is wrong according to Christians if it is only used for cosmetics..?
because that is saying 'I don't like my god-given face i will change it' so reconstructive surgery isn't wrong only cosmetic surgery is, but listen I don't like how god made my hair really thick so i usually wear a beanie or a hat to thin it out a bit and i do this constantly so I'm a sinner for going against my god-given attributes, I am supposed to just leave my hair thick like god intended it to be but i see christian women wearing lipstick all the time when god did not originally make their lips that red. So that could be a sin too by going against god's original intent-right? Can a christian explain this to me....where's the line-when is it okay to change you're body?

- According to Christians, anything that pleases us and does no harm to others IS WRONG..
- And this is our species....... aliens would facepalm if they came here
- who told you that? nowhere in the Bible does it say that.
- Evan: I heard she got breast reduction surgery. Seth: What? That's like slapping God across the face for giving you a beautiful gift
- why do you take their word for it? That it is a sin? I don't think so.The only way it would be sinful is if you got the "new look" to engage in some immoral life style. It's okay to dye our hair, wear make up, and trim and tone our body. If you can afford cosmetic surgery, well, if it makes you love yourself better, so what? Just make sure you do not forget about God with your happier life now.
- There is a new commandment, "love one and other as I have loved you" . The rules of the Old Testament were added to my men, something which Christ was not happy about.
- Some may think that it is only vanity to improve one's appearance by almost any means - it isn't. It is a reality that people judge you and those associated with you by your appearance, even if they try not to. When you look good, you make your friends and loved ones look good. It makes your family look good. When you keep yourself clean, dress nicely, speak without ugliness and yes, even alter your features to look better, you gain honor and respect for your family and friends. Attending to your appearance is not selfish or wrong; it is a duty that you owe to your family, friends, community and country. .
- I've never heard a believer say that plastic surgery was wrong. In fact, I've had some eyelid work and feel it's a personal choice for one's appearance. I think you just dislike believers in general because you aren't one of them. Harmony
- Plastic surgery is not sinful, it is self mutilation .... well almost, wait, tattooing is self mutilation.
- many people these days like tick hair. Be careful what you wish for. i don't love my appearance also. for example; my nose. I think that is something I really have disliked about myself. I had so much trouble excepting my nose. but with prayer I have really excepted it. Well, I still have trouble but I am trying to trust God. lipstick and makeup I can agree with that. but then there is a story in proverbs i believe or songs of songs that talks about some stuff you might be having problems with. my answer is really this....... read the bible. If you are not a Christina still doesn't mean you shouldn't read the Holy Bible. Let the Holy spirit guide you.
- Christians say a whole lot of things, if you listen closely you may realize that most of them don't make much sense.....
- I'm a Christian and I believe there are radical beliefs in all faiths just like there are overly passive (for lack of a better word) in all faiths as well. I personally do not listen to everything I hear unless the one telling me can back it up with scripture that obviously relates to the issue at hand. That said, I think if you permanently alter something, ie; by knife, than maybe that would not be so good. With surgery, there is a risk you could die... I would love to get some work done but I am not going to do anything to put my life at risk. Make-up, hair cut, hat, etc. those are not going to kill me. If you are cutting your hair that grows back, wearing appropriate clothing (another issue) anything that wouldn't harm your body or anyone else's than I would think that would be ok.
- I don't believe it to be a sin to have cosmetic surgery just because a person wants to look better. That being said, the Bible says while all things are permissible (accept those obvious sins which I won't mention because right now I want to keep the peace), not all things are good. If a person uses cosmetic surgery to fill emptiness left by sin that is inside, then that is wrong, since it will never work. God is the only one able to fill that void. But if a person is doing getting surgery to gussy it up a little and not to deny God by stealing the chance for redemption through Jesus Christ by denying their own inner ugliness, than that's okay. Hope this makes some sense, I'm writing this in the wee hours of the morning. God bless! Visit me on my blog http://lordismerciful.blogspot.com
