Plastic surgery for 14 year old?
Hi, I'm 14 and I have a huge problem with self appearance. some days i look in the mirror and I say oh my nose isn't so bad, then i look at pictures and i just think eww!!! ugh i hate the way my face looks from the side, especially my nose. i hate the whole side view though. MY nose, my chin and jaw. I hate it. it makes me sooo self conscious, what should i do? I just read an article that says plastic surgery should not happen until the age of 14 because that's when the nose bone has fully matured and structured.

- A 14 year old can't get plastic surgery. Your face hasn't even fully matured yet. Did you know that Megan Fox and a lot of other sexy celebrities were ugly as teenagers? Edit Your article is either 1. Fake 2. Based on girls who grow faster than most Or 3. Not studied enough It is not legal to get plastic surgery when you are 14 And btw, i know for a fact that my older sisters (21 and 25) look a lot different then from when they were 14. Both of them look much more prettier and mature. 14 year old girls have a young look, so you don't really know what you look like until you are 21.
- Every 14 year old is insecure about their appearance, I'm sure you look perfectly normal. Don't get plastic surgery. If you still feel that way as an adult, then maybe, but now you aren't really mature enough to make that choice now.
- Plastic Surgery IS NEVER THE ANSWER. I had the exact same self conscious feeling like you do about my nose. Around the time I was 13-14 too. It continued on. The thing is though is that your growing and your face is changing a lot every year. My nose looks A LOT better then when I was 14 (18 now) I just grew into it and my face matured and my nose sorta straightened out. Just accept yourself for who you are, like you said that some days it looks not bad then other days it looks bad, its because your growing. In the meanwhile while your face changes, just be glad and happy you have two functioning eyes, a nose that works, a mouth that feeds you, and two ears that you can hear through. It's whats really important, and hey chances are that by the time your 18 you will really like your nose too. EDIT: The article you read was probably on one of those teen, or beauty/style/fashion magazines. It's crap. It might be the minimum "safe" age for a person to get plastic surgery ( like if they have seriously broken there nose in some accident) but like I said just wait it out, eat a balanced diet, exercise, get educated, and just try to take care of yourself (body, mind, and spirit). You will find you grow into yourself as you mature. Best Regards
- don't ge plastic surgery yet! your only 14 and will grow into your features x many girls are not cormfortable in their own skin x you need to remember its whats on the inside that counts xx if you still don't like your nose etc. in a couple of years then maybe have plastic surgery x btw there are websites that help people with being self-consious x and think of the postive stuff on yourself xxx hope this helps
- Some people are just ugly. If you find it that much of a deal that you want to pay loads of cash and risk the consequences (yes, 14 is old enough to technically do plastic surgery, but your face hasn't matured yet, and it will still change significantly). Do you really want to go through with a painful and difficult procedure, knowing that you might naturally grow in to a beautiful person? I suggest you wait until adultery, and pay for it with your hard-earned money.
- Oh Lordy :) your like my mini me I used to think the same thing abou my face. when I was little I broke my nose and it always had this weird bumb on the bridge that I hated so much but I eventually learned that not many people noticed it or cared! everyone has these insecurities about themselves and trust me you are definitly not done growing :) you will either learn to embrace your unique qualities or you will get older and eventually see that you look absolutly beautiful by yourself. Once I was at the safe age for surgery I actually went in for a consultaion to get a nose job but once they told me the procedure I wimped out and never got the surgery. I'm glad I didn't because it makes me who I am today :) you will come to love your features!
