Can eyesight continue to deteriorate after laser surgery?
If someone gets laser eye surgery, can their eyesight still deteriorate afterwards? For example, I'm 17 and need to wear glasses when I drive, to see the board in classrooms, and to see the tv clearly. My mother is 40 and needs to wear her glasses all the time. I was wondering If there would be any point to me getting laser eye surgery (not that I can afford it), because I'm so young and my eyesight is going to get worse? Or does it give you perfect eyesight for the rest of your life?

- Your eyesight usually stabilizes at around age 22 and stays about the same until you reach about age forty. This is when the eyes begin to change due to age related reasons. When you undergo Lasik, it improves your vision for that 20 year period before age related changes begin developing. usually people become increasingly farsighted after 40 and nearsightedness is the issue when you are younger. The payoff is in not having to use corrective lenses for that 20-25 year period.
