Can we say that anyone who undergoes a cosmetic surgery just to make himself look better is non-selfconfident?
Is the person that udergoes a cosmetic surgery to satisfy people's look to him non-selfconfident?

- yes.
- No. Wanting a different look doesn't mean they think the old one is bad. The old look might get in the way of opportunity, however. Take Halle Berry -- if she'd kept her original nose, she probably wouldn't have had a career, let alone gone as far as she has. She was pretty but didn't look moneyed enough to justify the roles she's gotten. Or, Michael Jackson. I don't think he ever lacked for confidence; he just didn't want to look like his dad. The more surgeries he got, the less he looked like his dad but it got out of control. Also, I had a boss once who kept getting procedures done to please her husband. She had plenty of confidence, but in her culture, you do what your husband says. It was scary because she ended up looking like a monster! A friend of mine got liposuction in her thighs because she wanted to wear a specific swimsuit. I think her overall self- image was good, but it was the wrong swimsuit for her and she changed her body to fit the suit rather than pick a different suit. I don't think she'd have bothered except that her parents offered to pay for it. I think the stars who get obvious surgeries and then lie about it are the ones hurting inside. Like Jennifer Aniston. Her nose is so tiny now you can barely see it, yet she denies having it reshaped. It's probably a way to cope with jealousy towards Angelina. It's insulting to fans to think we're that stupid.
- No. In fact it just shows that the person knows what they want, and they have the means to get it. Almost everyone alters their appearance in some way or another. I don't know many women that just wake up, shower, dress and leave the house every morning. Most do something to their hair, wear make-up, clothes that flatter their body, etc. Most men exercise, shave, do something to their hair, etc. Even exercising because your not happy with your shape is altering your appearance. Just because you don't like something about your body doesn't mean you insecure, it just means you know what you want and you're willing to do what it takes to get it.
- Not necessarily. Peoplw who undergo plastic surgery usually do it to improve their physical features when they are unsatisfied with their appearance. Naturally, not being satisfied with the look could mean you would not have high confidence, but this is not always case. Some people are perfectly confident but they neverthless want to enhance their features. Also, as the surgery industry has developed and become more affordable, more people can choose to have it if they want to change their looks for whatever reason. Also plastic surgery can fix problems that hard as you try, just don't go away - like excess fat in some cases, or breasts that droop with old age or after breastfeeding.
