Have you ever had a nose job (Rhinoplasty) or any facial plastic surgery?

I have been wanting a nose job since a very young age. My nose is not huge but it's not small. And I am not very happy about the shape. I don't have any bumps but it turns up at the end. I have never had anesthesia and am scared b/c I read so many horror stories. I am also scared of a botched up surgury. Any stories or advice?

  1. I had a huge hawk nose and as big as it was, it was always stopped up, so I got a plastic surgeon to do a deviated septum and reshaping. I cut out pictures from magazines to show him noses I liked and I told him I still wanted a large nose, not a ski-slope nose,no concavity. Well the surgery went smoothly. It seemed like they woke me up 5 minutes after they gave me the anesthesia in the IV. I was on pain pills for a couple of weeks and the swelling took months to go down. The final result is not bad. I can breathe now, but he cut it down smaller than I wanted. I guess he couldn't imagine that I really did want it to stay big, just not huge. I recommend you take an actual profile photo of your nose and draw on the picture (or cut with scissors) how you want it to look. Now I sometimes think about a 2nd procedure to get an insert to build it back up again. He also gave it a little concavity (slight ski-slope curve) that I didn't want. But, it looks good from the front and since I can breathe now it was worth the $5500. I wish I had given him actual dimensions and done the photo trick I suggest you do.
  2. i had total reconstructive surgery on my face. you know they can do just about anything these days. anesthesia isnt so bad, i enjoyed not being able to feel my head for 6 weeks. if you do your homework and really really check out the Dr that will be performing your surgery then i think you should be alright.
