Do you support cosmetic surgery for babies--such as, circumcision? What about face lifts and tummy tucks?

I mean... since God isn't commanding any of these be done to babies or adults... these would all be purely cosmetic procedures.

  1. I only support cleft palate repair and other necessary procedures. Circumcision is not among them. edit: Hah, <.>! Everyone finds common ground eventually, I always say.
  2. To my girlfriend, they are. If we ever have a son, she wants to have him circumcised. Her reasoning? "It looks better". Whatever.
  3. I'm with Anonnie. (for a change, lol) @ LOL, I suppose we do, at that. I think any deformity that can be corrected should, but circumcision doesn't really fall into that category. maybe a choice that should be made by the person it's being inflicted upon, in my opinion.
  4. What did he need baby foreskins for in the first place? A nice Matrix-style foreskin leather coat?
  5. Uncircumcised? I won't touch it. Fcking gross. I have no problem with circumcision. I really don't see the big damn deal. Some idiots compare it to female genital mutilation, because apparently removal of the foreskin that traps bacteria and encourages infection is akin to removal of the tissue that protects the vagina from infection and half the time along with the clitoris to ensure she doesn't feel any pleasure or desire to cheat on her man. Yeah. Totally the same thing. Face lifts? Tummy tucks? Do doctors even do that on children? I most assuredly do not support this. Circumcision is cosmetic to most of us, however to, say, Jews, it's religiously symbolic. It was a requirement of the old covenant for a person to be circumcised. I believe they actually had to make the choice themselves, though, but I may be wrong, I'm a little rusty on my O.T.
