Why do so many celebrities have plastic surgery?

I've just wondered why pretty/handsome celebrities have plastic surgery, when after the surgery they lok dreadful most of the time. Someone please explain to me ...

3. Their face is their paycheck. Their lives are all based on creating illusions. It's what they sell, so they have to protect their marketability. It's inevitably a losing proposition, but they have to try.

5. It is what society expects of them, if they are vain and say their nose is the 'wrong' shape, they'll have it 'done'. Also means they gain publicity, being in the 'public eye' means more 'work'.
6. they get soooo obsessed with becoming beautiful that they become ugly and they dont realize it.
7. Because they don't want to get old and they want people to think that they'll always be perfect.
