Your Opinion Please: What's the earliest age that one can get plastic surgery?

Please don't answer if all you're going to say is that no one young or old should get plastic surgery. I want some sincere input because right now I'm 18 years old and am thinking about getting rhinoplasty. This is a personal decision. I'm not getting a nose job to look like a celebrity or because my boyfriend told me I should get one or anything like that. I'm doing this for myself. I want people's honest opinions, and medical knowledge. Thanks.

  1. Honey, Life is short live it to its fullest. You could be 6 and if a rhinoplasty would make you happy, then i would say go for it. Life goes quick so you gotta take it while you got it.
  2. I'd probably say between 20-25... Although many ppl have gotten plastic surgery at age 18, I really dont think thats old enough... You body is still kind of growing...
  3. i think it depends on the body part. but since it is ur nose and it will not be growing anymore 18 is the legal age to get it done. um no matter what u always do have the potential risks but im sure u can find a doctor who will do a good job. and whatever u do make sure that u know what u want it to look like and u dont let anyone talk u into getting it done a certain way. i hope everything goes great and u love ur results!
  4. You had me panicked for a second. I say go for it, since you're of age and not doing this for anyone else. I'm pro-nosejob. However, things like breast augmentation shouldn't be done at your age (you're still growing), and lipo is the cheaters way out of diet and exercise.
  5. I think if you are fully grown into your features it is ok.... as long as this is for you and you won't become addicted then it is ok... it helps a lot of people out with confidence.
  6. 19-50 that the best time trust me
  7. ok, a NOSE job , in the USA I believe that you can make all medical decisions at age 18. Any doctor can tell you that. You would need to arrange a payment schedule if your health insurance wont cover it . I would also suggest that you get a nice photo of yourself and get it reworked to show you with the new nose. Many plastic surgeons have that sort of program. Then tape that somewhere you will see it everyday and make sure its really what you want. Thats assuming its a big change . Dont go to the lowest cost around, insist on some referances and do as much checking as you can on the doctor and clinic they operate from . The surgean will advise if you should wait a few years because you are still growing . Thats going to depend on how extensive the procedure is.
  8. if you see a doctor he will determine if your mentally stable enough and are doing it for all the right reasons. A friend of mine had a boob job at 16 she's now 22 and has no regreats and is still very happy bc it was something that truly bugged her. If it's on your mind 24/7 then maybe you should have it done. As long as you know that you'll be the same person with a very slight change to your nose. you won't change you in any other way if you don't look like a modle with a big nose when you go under your not going to look like a modle with a normal nose when you wake up. Sounds like you want it done for the right reasons so i say go for it or at least look in to it and know what COULD happen.
  9. I had a nose job when I was 20. (Nose was broken 3 times from playing high school sports, and really crooked) I had a chance to get it earlier but I'm glad I waited. The reason being is that my body and face were still changing. I wanted my nose to fit with the rest of those changes. If you get one too early, it will look like a nose job. But if you wait at least a year or 2, you will have a much higher chance of having the nose fit the face. I'm 30 now, and as much as I have changed in the last 10 years, my nose still fits my face. (Make sure you use a good DR. It could mean the difference between a good and a great result.)
  10. You only need to be 18
