It's true that you can save 50-80% when you go for a plastic surgery on COSTA RICA??

I'm researching info about plastic surgery. I like to enhancemy breast, I saw a video from ABC news that many people are traveling to other countries as Costa Rica to save money and they said that they treat you very good, that the doctors are great, etc. If that is true, how can somebody from US find info before traveling? where can I find a list of doctors, prices etc? I want to search for more info, BEFORE I decide what to do. So I'm taking my time to investigate. Is there any place here in USA where the Breast Augmentation is NOT too expesive? If so, where would be a good place to start looking, any body knows a good site? Thank you very much for all your responses! =) Does anybody knows what's cheaper state for a plastic surgery (breast augmentation)

1. You get what you pay for love. Spend the money. Im sure that news show didnt show you all the cases of mishap with out of country drs/hositals. You need a respected trustworthy dr.
2. In a lot of foreign countries it is cheaper but your care will be minimized, they may not be as clean, and you really have no proof that the person operating on you is a real doctor. A lot of people have had major problems going to other countries to get surgery. Do a lot of research on the doctor and the hospital before you go there or send any money. Good luck and God bless.
3. Yes it is true. But the results may not be as good. You better look at "before and after" photos of the surgeons work. Good Luck ! :)
4. The far east as well (thailand etc); but they usually send you home right away and then who would follow you here? And if you have any complications you have no recourse over the original surgeon & would have to pay for all the care you received here (they often don't even have you around long enough to take out stitches!). Also, the licensing is completely different--you may have a real MD not not a nurse, and your family may be expected to care for you, etc So it is risky, but many are very happy with the results. I think you have to be just overly cautious. Ask alot of questions (even attend some of those seminars that hospitals, colleges, MDs have here periodically). You need to talk to actual people who had surgery there as well; possibly even tour the facilites if possible. Complications are possible anywhere (like at Donda West); but you need to try & minimize them & a foreign country is just a wild card. Some plastic surgeons will offer a payment plan for their procedures--check that out as well.
5. In most foreign you can get medical procedures for far less then in the U S. You need to check out the country to see that they are well qualified to do what you want. The U S is not the only country in the world that has up to date and good medical facilities so you can go to other countries, many of their doctors got their training here, others were trained in medical schools in their own country. The down side of going to another country is how long will you stay there for follow up, or what will you do should complications develop. This can add expense. Look around the world there are many countries where people have as good or better medical facilities as in the U S.

7. It is totally true that you can save a lot doing a plastic surgury in costa rica. I did my plastic surgury there and the main hospital ( Hospital Cima San Jose) is amazingly good,clean, and it has very specialized attention when it comes to plastic surgury. Someone answered to this cuestion that they are not real doctors but I guess that no body is going to mess up with someone who doesent have a specialized diploma. You should at least call a doctor in Costa Rica or reaserch more beacause there are many experts who studied in the US or Europe. Doctors there might of studied with the someone that is working here just that they went to different places.One of the main doctors is called Alejandro Lev, you should contact him.
