Is a 'nose job' worth it? How do you explain a new nose to your family + friends?

I hate my nose, it causes me a lot of anxiety. It just looks terrible. But I keep thinking to myself "what are you complaining about, there is so much to be grateful for in your life, and ok, you look bad from the side, but from the front you look fine".... And anyway if I did go ahead and get a 'new' nose, how would I explain it to my parents, sisters, brother, friends... i'd just be labeled as vain and shallow forever in their minds... I can see it coming up in arguments.. "well you changed your nose!"... and it's as if i'd lose my dignity... i've given in to the world in which we live... but damn it i hate my nose... maybe it's better to be ugly then beautiful anyway... So has anyone had a 'nose job', any advice etc? Thanks

  1. you should get it, if it is causing you anxiety, your friends and family will understand
  2. DONT YOU DARE GET A NOSE JOB!!!!
  3. Aw, look, God made you the way you are. He said to be grateful with the features He gave you. Would you rather be look like God wanted you to or how a plastic surgeon wants you to look? You are beautiful, so you have a few things you don't like on your face. I HATE my forehead! It's so small! But I don't even think there's such a thing as forehead plastic surgery.......... =D I hope I helped!
  4. It is your nose, and if it bothers your confidence etc.. then you should get the nose job. I'm sure you are beautiful the way you are, but when it comes to plastic surgery, you have to do things like that for yourself, not what others say is right or wrong for you. People get nose jobs for many reasons, such as crooked septums which hinders breathing, and many many more reasons. If your family is upset, they will get over it. It is your body, your nose, you do what you feel is right for you!!
  5. If its causing you that much stress and anxiety about your nose then I would do it. Your family and friends should understand. Tell them that it was affecting your health by making you have high anxiety levels and you really really wanna do this. I think they should support you if you really think that its bothering you this much
  6. If you have a problem admitting to a nose job, tell them that you had to have surgery to correct a breathing problem or that you had an accident and broke your nose and had to have surgery to have it fixed. Or tell the truth... Plastic surgery is so common now that no one gives it a second thought. The most important thing is that you're happy with yourself.
  7. If it makes you feel better about yourself then do it. Your family will see what a change it made in you mentally and physically. You will have more self confidence in yourself. People have plastic surgery all of the time now and people don't usually say anything. They will know you look different but will be questioning if you did something diffferent to your hair or your makeup.
