What kind of degree is required to be a surgical assistant in plastic surgery?

I know a lot of these schools have those 10 month programs to be a surgical assistant but I specifically wanted to work in plastic surgery so I didn't know if it was a different type of degree or not.

1. At my college, you can be a Scrub Tech (diploma program) in about 1 year, but usually you work in and for the hospital, not specifically with a certain set of docs.
