Exercise after facial lipo?

I had liposuction on my face (neck and cheeks) three weeks ago and am wondering when I will be able to return to my usual exercise routine, which was 90 minutes a day of high intensity aerobics, as well as 1/2 hour of butt and legs toning.

  1. Once you feel up to it.
  2. After any cosmetic surgery, including liposuction of the body or face, you need time to heal. Usually, for the first few weeks you should limit yourself to something like walking which isn't too jarring. After about 2 weeks, you can increase the intensity somewhat, but generally you should wait at least a month after the liposuction before returning to intense activity that involves a lot of bouncing around. The butt and leg moves should be fine if you're doing them on the floor or a machine, but watch jumping and aerobics. Your skin may look fine on the surface, but you don't want to disturb the healing process that is taking place under the skin, as this is ultimately what will affect how much tightening of the skin takes place. There's more information on liposuction and other cosmetic procedures at http://www.cosmeticprocedureinfo.org Your best bet is to ask your plastic surgeon, as it also depends on how much fat was removed too, and whether any other procedures were done recently, like a face lift.
