Has anyone gotten laser surgery on their Pugs nose to help them breath?
My 4 month old Pug is getting fixed this month and the vet said he could do a laser surgery on his nose while he was under to help him breath and wanted to know if anyone has had it done for their Pug. Is it worth it or a waste of money???

- i have not had it done but i have assisted while it was being done. with the surgery the nares (nostrils) of the nose are trimmed ever so slightly to help open them up. the dogs that had it done were able to breathe better almost instantly.
- The vet I work for has done this for several dogs with stenotic nares (narrow nostrils). Most of the dogs she has done are brachycephalic breeds like pugs. It is definitely worth the money as it opens up the airways a little more and makes breathing a bit easier for these poor dogs.
- No that sounds cruel. Plus pugs just have bad ways of breathing anyway.
